250 - Celebrating Our Anne-versary! How To Be The You-est You You Can Be

“We're better together. That's the number one lesson I've learned from traveling is that we are better together.” - Anne Remy

It’s ANNE-versary time! A celebration of Anne Remy’s first year as co-host. OK, by any other name, it’s a clips show. But! We’re not subjecting our Wounded Healer audience to rote commentary on an endless scroll of episodes. Instead, we’ve cherry-picked the very best a-ha! moments from our favorite conversations. As a whole, they represent Anne’s personal and professional growth over the past year.

I was never concerned about Anne’s ability to show up behind the mic as anything but herself. She’s fearless––and I don’t mean in a cocky vs timid sort of binary. Anne’s a courageous interviewer and human. She welcomes each conversation as an opportunity to explore the limits of her own knowledge, challenge preconceived notions, and totally fangirl where others might play it too cool. I love that for her and for all of us!

Here’s an annotated (ANNE-otated?) summary of the featured episodes:

Sarah Buino––I couldn’t throw a new co-host into the deep end without getting into the water myself. We get honest real fast about the realities of professional authenticity vs. IRL messiness.

Dr. Isha McKenzie-Mavinga—There’s a reason why Anne often refers to Dr. Isha as the single most influential person on her work as a therapist and a guiding force in her life. May we all find someone who’ll love us and hold us accountable in the same way.

Dr. Cheddar Gorgeous––Quite possibly the best example of Anne’s fearlessness and my fave episode! I adore Cheddar’s POV on all things and Anne’s enthusiasm for joining the cultural icon in  a place they call “productive tension.”

John Gasienica––Chronic pain is often a signal from the past. Anne gets the message in real-time during this episode, and, once again, she models what it means to move courageously into the unknown.

Wandile Mthiyane––If you only remember one word from this episode, let it be Ubuntu! But ubuntu is more than a single word; it’s an African philosophy that embodies all of what it means to love in a community and rely on each other. Anne and Wandile exemplify Ubuntu energy.

Thanks for revisiting these essential ANNE-versary episodes with us!
